It seems everything is oriented towards Apple in this regard! But I'm determined to not have to get an iPad just for my chord charts. I can view my charts one at a time on my tablet, but it entails opening the viewing platform (LibreOffice) and clicking on the song. I want to scroll through all the songs and not have to open just one. So I just downloaded both versions of Nitro Reader 3 (32 and 64 bit) and tried out the 32 bit version on my Vista computer. It opened nicely, let me put 5 PDF songs in it, and I can scroll from song to song, but only the miniature picture versions. When I open just one song I can scroll to the next song, I have to close the open song, scroll to the next one, open it, etc. Is ther any way to just scroll through already opened songs? Earlier I had written a maker of one of those Bluetooth foot controllers you mentioned and he'd responded that their controller would work IF the program I had my songs in responded to arrow clicks. Nitro Reader 3 doesn't unless the opened song is closed first. Got any solution? What am I missing here? The Thinkpad Yoga 14 and 15 are coming out soon with Pen support and can flip into a tablet, but the 12.5 already has pen support. There's also the Surface pro, which works wonderfully for sheet music, but I wasn't too crazy about it as a full on laptop. Hope that helps!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6630434598988309533.post-34829928260282443952014-11-28T16:29:20.511-05:002014-11-28T16:29:20.511-05:00Really Helpful, Thank youReally Helpful, Thank youAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6630434598988309533.post-59887939091993873222014-08-19T13:41:16.444-04:002014-08-19T13:41:16.444-04:00Does anyone have any recent experience with a lapt...Does anyone have any recent experience with a laptop for reading music on a piano music rack. (1) MusicReader can add metadata - the information about each title that you normally include in a spreadsheet list ut many PDF tools drop off this XML metadata. (2) No great tools exist for splitting a PDF file into separate instrumental files to go in separate folders just like paper music for a band. Jpdfbookmarks adds bookmarks in a labour-intensive fashion and A-PDF splits files by bookmark, one file at a time, all into a single folder. For the impending stampede to paperless music we will need a faster bookmark adder and a PDF splitter that will process a batch of files, appending the bookmark to each output filename and distributing the output into a folder per bookmark and passing on the XML metadata. I will not go paperless until a suitable two-page display unit becomes available at a good price. That might be several yeara away.BrizzoRayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10543597319894121428noreply@blogger.com
